Apartment Hunting!

So Kyle started his job on Monday. He's pretty much just done orientation and training so far, but I think once he gets started, he'll really enjoy it. The only problem is the drive. He says it's not so bad on the way there, but there's awful traffic on the way home - making the drive about twice as long. SO we are in search and in need of an affordable place to live, closer to Salt Lake. Preferably South or West Jordan, since they have Trax from there, right to the hospital. So if anyone hears anything, we'd love to know about it as well! We are very anxious to move out on our own :)

Employed Hubby!!! :)

Kyle got a job!!!! :) Happy day! It's at the University of Utah Hospital, as a Medical Assistant. He starts next Monday and it sounds like it will be Monday-Friday, 7:00am-7:00pm, No weekends or holidays. We are so very excited!
Now I just need a new job ... any offers? I am more than anxious to get out of Big Lots! Anything will sound appetizing right now! :)

Tomorrow, my brother Chad is getting married! I am soooo happy for them. They were definitely 'made for each other.' I have never seen him happier, and she is really good with his situation. I'm excited to have another married couple in the family .. and maybe little nieces and nephews and cousins for Rocky soon???!

Just thought I'd let everyone know the exciting news :)

Life as we know it!

Just thought I'd try to catch up from my blogpost slacking :)

Life if pretty grand. Could it be better? Absolutely! But i'm sure that's what the Queen of England thinks too! :)  We are still living in Saratoga Springs with Kyle's parents. We are so grateful for their generosity and letting us stay here way longer than expected. It's been about 2 years we've lived here. It is definitely harder to start a family when we're not living on our own. But at the same time, we are very blessed to be paying so little in rent and having family so close.

I am still working at Big Lots ..... I know. I am pushing through my 2nd year, making it the 3rd in October. Sure, I've learned a lot from working there. But that doesn't mean i'm not anxious to GET OUT!! There should be a Draper store opening soon, so I am keeping my fingers crossed in hopes to transfer. Possibly even as the furniture manager.

I would like to start school up this fall, but if our financial situation doesn't change, I don't know if it will be able to happen. We were pretty confident that Kyle would get a job right off the bat (being the valedictorian, going to Skills USA, and graduating as a Paramedic EMT Firefighter). But the older I get the more true it is: "It's not about What you know, but Who you know." That is especially true with Firefighting.

Kyle finished his Paramedic class in April and is now taking summer classes. He is still pretty interested in the Military and is hopeful for Medical School down the road. It has been difficult for him to get hired on at a department because he hasn't had much experience. He is currently "working" (volunteering) for Sandy City and hoping that an opening in that dept. will open soon.

Rocky had his 3rd surgery in ... June?? He had his soft palate repaired. Everything went perfectly and at his follow-up a month later, we found out that he won't have another one until he is 4! (yay!!!!!!)

Fourth of July

Kyle getting Lasik!

Sandy City Fire Department had a BBQ for all the firefighters and their families. They had the big ol' hoses to put out a fire they would light up for us. Kyle made me put on the turnouts and run (walk ... sshhhhh) through the bunker. It kinda sucked a lot!! And Rocky got to get in the Firetruck! It was a lot of fun.

Facebook demolition :)

I am proud to announce ... I have deactivated my Facebook! :)
Why??
Well, Mainly just one big reason. A girl from my work. She kept getting onto my page and telling my boss what I had on my posts and turning it into something bad about work. And it was just getting old. So instead of "de-friending" her and having that turn into a big deal, I just "de-friended" Facebook!

Good news is, I will be on here a LOT more! .. And hopefully learning how to use it a lot better. :)

Chow!

April 22, 2011

This was one busy, but fun-filled day.  Kyle has definitely worked hard this year in his paramedic class. He received THREE certificates at his graduation! The first one, being one of the valedictorians! Yes-plural. There were 3 students on each others tails the whole year. Before the final, out of 3000 points, they were within 4 points of each other. So they decided to see what the final did. To their dismay, it got them within 3 points of each other - switching the order even!  Haha  So instead of picking just one of them, all three of them were awarded and gave a speech. He was also recognized for his Skills USA participation. And than of course, his certificate for graduating the class.

Rocky's birthday was a lot of fun. My family came over and we had a delicious dinner, followed by cake and presents. He wouldn't dig into his cake like he was supposed to though! ;) He would poke at it with his finger, than wipe it off on his shirt. Finally, I took his hand and shoved it in there for him. He didn't like that too much - it brought tears to his eyes! It wasn't until I washed his hand off and gave him a SPOON until he would even think of getting into it! Hahahaaa interesting..
After he opened all his presents, we were entertained by him for a couple hours. He was loving all the attention!
It was nice to spend the day together as a big ol' family. I can't believe my little Rocky is one year old! I could not ask for a better son. He is awesome and I never thought I could love a little one year old as much as I love him!

Now enjoy some pics of our busy day! Thanks!! :)

Right before his speech -- can ya tell he's a little nervous?
