Christmas Miracle

So here I was, on this lovely Sunday night when the doorbell rang. Was there a soul on the porch? No, but a jar full of change with a little note that says:

"Kyle & Savannah,
We've been saving our
pennies all year long
with little Rocky in
mind. We hope that
this helps with his
medical expenses
and whatever other
needs he has. We love
you guys and are
proud of the efforts
that you are making.
Merry Christmas!"

WOW! Whoever this was, Thank you so much!
I can definetely tell this was a long, hard process to save up so much, and than to give it away. My heart is so full right now, I can't hold back the tears. There are so many loving, generous people in the world and I am grateful for you all. We have received so much help from family and friends .. and even strangers. Whoever you are, God bless you. I hope that one day we can return the favor to whoever gave us such a great Christmas miracle.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Kyle's First 24 hour shift

Although Kyle probably won't appreciate me sharing his story, I'm going to do it anyways :)
Wednesday morning he got up at 530 and got all ready for his first shift at the Sandy Fire Dept. He hadn't looked out the window to see that it had snowed a couple inches so when he went outside he was kind of in a hurry. He got there bearly on time and as he was walking up to the door, another fireman met up with him and they started talking. The fireman that worked there was telling him that by the end of the day, he will probably wish he hadn't come at all.

They were holding a funeral service for one of the Captains that passed away. Kyle had no idea. So they hop in the truck and head to the service. He didn't think to bring his jacket because he figured it would be inside, and everyone else was in their "blues" and he didn't want to look sloppy. (Keep in mind that he has a cold this whole time) Long story short, the dept. ended up leaving him there so he had to hitch a ride with another dept. to the cemetery, and to keep that from happening again, he kept close to them. When they all lined up, he followed and suddenly everyone salutes and they walk down the line with the coffin. So that was awkward. Haha

They were all starving afterwards (So he was starving, sick, and freezing ... and oblivious.) They decided to go out but they got a call so they had to go there first. When they finally got to grab some dinner, he said it started to get better. He could finally talk to them and get to know some of them.

They got back to the station and Kyle, being a deep sleeper, was nervous that if he fell asleep being so exhausted, that if they got a call he wouldn't hear it. So he left his uniform and boots on with the light on and the door open. Next thing he knows, he's woken up by the Captain telling him that he missed a call. Well he was bummed and couldn't have that happen again so he sat in the kitchen corner with a little light on the rest of the night.

After all that, he went back today. So kudos to him! I can almost promise you I would have given up right then and never gone back. Haha I'm sure it's not very funny for him now, but it was a great story for all of us :)

Goodbye Husband

Kyle started his internship/ride alongs today. This first week, he works 96 hours! Yeah, that's like pretty much all week. Today and tomorrow he goes to Labor and Delivery, and than 2 24 hour shifts at fire departments, with the hospital in between. Ghaaa!  So i'm just saying SEE YA! Ha I pretty much will be a widow until the semester ends in April.  He's excited though. Not so much for the L&D part ... haha. But I think he's way excited for the 24s. I'm not that thrilled, as you can imagine. I just have to keep telling myself it'll pay off eventually. And it will :)

Thoughts

So i've been thinking ... I want to go back to school. I always thought I wanted to be a stay at home mom, but now that I am a mom -- not so much. Haha  I love spending time with my little Rocky. But I enjoy working too. I think that while i've got family close by to watch him, I will continue to work.

School
I've always wanted to go to photography school
But it's   sooooo     expensive.
So another thought would be to just follow a friend around and watch them and steal their skills. :) Yes, I like that idea

           Talents
I want to take voice lessons. Always wanted to, just never had enough confidence I guess. But now I really want to. I don't care if I make a   fool   out of myself!
But than it comes down too the money issue again .. Danget.

Christmas
I LOVE Christmas! Kyle and I decided that, because of our lack of the green stuff this year, we would postpone our Christmas until February. (TAXES!)

I am having a hard time with this.         Ya see ... I got Kyle a present ...
And it's friggin the best! Ever.
But now I feel guilty.      Jimminy Cricket

What do you do when you have something you should probably talk to your parents about
but reeeeaally don't want to? Because they will probably poke your eyes out ... ?? OR WORSE
Hmm.

        Momma
I Love being a mom. There's so many little moments, worth a bajillion bucks that somehow make those sleepless nights, short trips, frustrations, long car rides, headaches, and all those 'WHY?!!' moments all worth while.
